Probation Service Örebro is now seeking Correctional Officers who can work on an hourly basis - as needed. The extent can vary from small to large needs depending on the workload.

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is part of the Probation Service's control and preparedness organization, responsible for managing controls for clients under electronic monitoring as well as attendance checks for clients sentenced to community service. This means that in this role, you will participate in client visits at the probation office and visit clients in their homes, where you will maintain a professional approach. You will independently be responsible for carrying out various forms of controls and documenting your work. Your tasks will also include other security-related duties such as urine sampling and entry control. There is a strong focus on security-enhancing tasks, and you will staff the entry control for secure access to our office. You will work alongside probation inspectors and other correctional officers, and it is important that you thrive in a flexible and dynamic environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:
• Completed upper secondary education with final grades
• Relevant work experience as assessed by the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form
• Good computer skills
• B driver's license for manual transmission

Meritorious:
• Relevant work experience in security work, social care, psychiatry, healthcare, and/or conflict management
• Experience in correctional services
• Completed correctional officer training
• Experience in security control/access

As a correctional officer, you need to be secure, stable, have good self-awareness, sound judgment, and integrity. Together with your colleagues, you will drive the operations, so you need to have good collaboration skills and be clear in your communication. You should also be able to take initiative, structure your tasks, and drive your own processes. You should be able to act physically when required.

You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. We have high demands on our employees' security and confidentiality awareness. To work with us, you need to undergo a security screening in accordance with the Security Protection Act. For this position, a security screening interview will be conducted before a hiring decision is made.
