About Us

The Rehabilitation Clinic is part of close care and operates at both locations of Blekingesjukhuset.

The clinic organizes Blekingesjukhuset's rehabilitation within inpatient care including a stroke unit as well as outpatient services with specialist, pain, and cancer rehabilitation. We employ 240 staff members from various professions to provide the residents of the region access to specialized rehabilitation in both inpatient and outpatient care. Ward 20 is a care ward with 12 beds that belongs to the Rehabilitation Clinic and collaborates with the Medical Clinic.

Ward 20 is a rehabilitation ward where patients of all ages are cared for with various diagnoses in the rehabilitation phase. This means that as a nursing assistant, you often follow the patient through the entire rehabilitation process. The patients cared for in the ward have neurological symptoms and diseases, postoperative care, traumatic brain injuries, anoxic brain injuries, orthopedics, general rehabilitation, and spinal cord injuries.

In Karlshamn, there is a specialist team for spinal cord injuries linked to the ward, which allows these patients to join the ward's rehabilitation team at an early stage. Traumatic brain injuries and anoxic brain injuries also come to the ward early for care and rehabilitation.

The Job

The tasks in the ward are very varied. We have the privilege of following the patient through the entire rehabilitation process.

We also have the privilege of being part of a team that can make a significant difference for the patient. You are constantly faced with new challenges, which allows you to develop in your professional role. Daily, we collaborate with several other professions (e.g., physiotherapist, occupational therapist, social worker, speech therapist), which provides a holistic view with the patient at the center.

Our tasks include a large number of medical technical moments, where we meet patients with clinical feeding tubes, PEG, and tracheostomy.

About You

We are looking for you who are a licensed nursing assistant. If you have experience in the profession, it is valuable to us. Experience working in a care ward is a plus.

As a person, it is important that you are attentive, open, and communicative. You put the patient at the center and have a good attitude. You have a genuine interest in rehabilitation and in driving and motivating patients in their training.

You see and take initiative and are solution-focused. You have good collaboration skills and actively contribute to a good working environment. You thrive in a fast-paced environment where changes are part of everyday life. You have good computer skills and are quick to learn new programs. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability and collaborative ability. Region Blekinge places all permanent staff in a crisis preparedness role.
