Traffic Engineer to Street/Park/Port

The Technical Division operates the business independently and consists of five areas: Street/Park/Port, Nyköping Water, Waste Management, Meal Service, and Municipal Properties. These are supported by a project department, an economics department, and an administrative staff. The division employs about 400 permanent staff and has an annual turnover of over 1 billion kronor. Our clients are the Municipal Executive Board, the Environmental and Community Planning Committee, and the Culture and Leisure Committee.

The Street/Park/Port is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and development of streets, parks, and Nyköping's port on behalf of the Environmental and Community Planning Committee, as well as certain recreational facilities on behalf of the Culture and Leisure Committee. The operation ensures that Nyköping has a functional and safe street and road system that meets the needs of traffic participants for accessibility, traffic safety, and security. JOB DESCRIPTION

The Planning and Investigation Unit at Street/Park/Port is now expanding with a Traffic Engineer interested in how traffic solutions can be designed to contribute to a sustainable transport system that is attractive, safe, and secure for all citizens. The unit consists of 15 employees with broad expertise who together drive the unit's work forward. Our guiding principles are Inclusion, Community, and Respect.

As a traffic engineer with us, you will among other things:

• Work in line with the municipality's transport and parking strategy
• Handle local traffic regulations, exemptions, work with traffic and parking planning, and other types of tasks related to traffic managed within the operation
• Represent the unit in various project groups in municipality-wide collaboration issues related to traffic
• Work on various types of investigations
• Handle feedback and error reports and have contacts with the public, authorities, and organizations

You will participate in reviewing design documents, responding to referrals, and preparing cases for the municipality's political committees.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying have:

• Relevant education focused on the work area or work experience that the employer assesses as equivalent
• Good computer skills and knowledge of the Office suite
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both spoken and written
• Driving license B

It is meritorious if you have:

• Worked in public operations
• Worked in some type of operational system such as Infracontrol or a digital LTF tool
