Service Technician at Eltel in Linköping

Job Responsibilities

As a service technician with us, you will maintain critical infrastructure; you will build and service the communication networks of the future. Your main tasks will involve locating and resolving our customers' issues. You will handle all equipment within the IP, LAN technology area such as routers and switches, as well as other types of customer installations and connections.

Examples of job tasks:

• Troubleshooting for customers & companies
• New installations of switches & routers
• Expansion for Core & DWDM networks
• Preventive maintenance on nodes and in networks
• Master work

Work with solutions for radio and transmission networks may also occur. Most of the work is done indoors, but sometimes work is also done outdoors and near railway areas. In some cases, light electrical work and fiber splicing may also be involved.

As a service technician, you will have many different contacts, both with our production planner who allocates and distributes work to available technicians and with customers when needed. Sometimes you will need to ensure that you acquire what is necessary to solve the problem for the customer. Communication is key.

You will report your hours daily via phone or computer and continuously report during and after the work is completed. Of course, you will maintain close communication with our production planner and our customers to keep them updated on the progress of the work. On-call duty may occur every 6-8 weeks and is compensated with additional pay. Planned night shifts may occur as needed.

THIS IS WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

To succeed in this role, we believe that you:

• Have completed a high school education
• Have a good understanding of IP technology, networks, and mobile systems
• Can work in operational networks and customer systems
• Can read and interpret work documents
• Can handle measuring instruments such as OTDR and similar and analyze results
• Have good Swedish in speech and writing as well as a good understanding of English
• Have a B driver's license for manual transmission

It is an advantage if you have:

• Tower training
• Electrical authorization
• Traffic Agency training

Additional Information

The position is a permanent employment that begins with a 6-month probationary period. The basis for employment is a successful background check (including, among other things, checks of legal disputes and financial status) and a successful security clearance.
