Fiber Technician at Eltel in Linköping

We consist of a large cohesive team distributed in the locations of Linköping and Norrköping. Our work is characterized by camaraderie and freedom under responsibility.

What are my job responsibilities?

The role primarily involves working with customers, both private individuals and companies. Overall, you will work to resolve both large and small faults in the communication system. Since we work with many different types of people, it is important that we act professionally, safely, and offer a high level of service.

In your role, you will:

• troubleshoot and repair
• install fiber
• work with fiber blowing
• offer a high level of service to customers
• possibly be on standby

Working as a fiber technician within the team means, among other things, that you splice and terminate optical fiber in our customers' networks. We work digitally, and your main tool for internal communication is via tablet/phone. You will receive a solid introduction from us at Eltel tailored to your skills.

The position is based in Linköping. You will work around Östergötland and parts of Småland and Södermanland, but mostly around Linköping and Norrköping.

We apply standby after internal training, which means you need to be available around the clock every fifth week (Thursday to Thursday). This is salary-enhancing, and you will also be off the Friday after you have been on standby.

We offer you home garage storage, which means you have the opportunity to start from home with the team's service vehicle; note that this is not the same as a company car.

THIS IS WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

To succeed in this role, you need to:

• have experience and/or interest in working with fiber installations (installing, blowing, mounting, and splicing fiber)
• have good habits and/or interest in measurement/final measurement and be familiar with troubleshooting with OTDR
• have completed high school education
• master Swedish in speech and writing
• have a B driver's license
• have a flexible working style as the workday may need to be reprioritized
• be meticulous, a natural team player, and offer high service

It is an advantage if you have knowledge of fiber/copper/electricity, but it is not a requirement. It is also advantageous if you have relevant education, for example, as an electrician or have worked with communication equipment. We place great emphasis on personal suitability, and what you do not know, we can teach you! What is important for us is to find the right person.
