Fiber Technician at Eltel in Linköping

What are my job responsibilities?

The role primarily involves working with customers, both private individuals and companies. Overall, you will be working to resolve both large and small issues in the communication system. Since we work with many different types of people, it is important that we act professionally, safely, and provide a high level of service.

In your role, you will:

• troubleshoot and repair
• install fiber
• work with fiber blowing
• provide a high level of service to customers
• possibly be on call

Working as a fiber technician within the team means that you will splice and terminate optical fiber in our customers' networks. We work digitally, and your primary tool for internal communication will be a tablet/phone. You will receive a thorough introduction from us at Eltel tailored to your skills.

One position is located in Linköping. You will work throughout Östergötland and parts of Småland and Södermanland, but mainly around Linköping and Norrköping.

We apply on-call duty after internal training, which means you need to be available around the clock every fifth week (Thursday to Thursday). This is salary-enhancing, and you will also have a day off the Friday after being on call.

We offer you home garage storage, which means you have the opportunity to start from home with the team's company car; please note that this is not the same as a company car.

To succeed in this role, you need to:

• have experience and/or interest in working with fiber installations (installing, blowing, assembling, and splicing fiber)
• have good experience and/or interest in measurement/final measurement and be familiar with troubleshooting using OTDR
• have completed high school education
• master Swedish in speech and writing
• have a B driver's license
• have a flexible working style as the workday may need to be reprioritized
• be meticulous, a natural team player, and offer high service

It is meritorious if you have knowledge of fiber/copper/electricity, but it is not a requirement. It is also meritorious if you have relevant education, for example, as an electrician or have worked with communication equipment.
