System Administrator with Experience in Linux Server

We are looking for a system administrator with several years of experience working with Linux servers.

Responsibilities

Your role as a system administrator involves close collaboration with colleagues. We are looking for someone who can work independently, take responsibility, and be involved in development within the area of Linux servers. You will be part of the server infrastructure group, which currently consists of nine employees and several consultants. The server infrastructure group is one of five groups within the infrastructure department, which works to deliver all LU-common IT infrastructure within Lund University.

Qualifications

You who are applying have:

• Documented several years of work experience with Linux servers; we currently use Ubuntu and Red Hat Enterprise Linux, but also have other distributions in exceptional cases
• Documented work experience with automation in Ansible
• Experience working in large-scale environments
• Fluent Swedish in speech and writing as most internal documentation is in Swedish
• Good proficiency in English in speech and writing as a large part of technical documentation and external contacts may occur in English

Desirable skills and experiences:

• Experience in hardware management, server racking, fiber installation
• Experience working with and configuring monitoring platforms such as OP5 and Prometheus
• Experience working with Kubernetes or other container solutions
• Experience in change management within IT infrastructure
• Experience working with IT in larger organizations
• Experience working in a government agency

Personal qualities

You should be proactive, have an easy time collaborating with others, have a structured work approach, and enjoy working in a complex environment.

Of course, you have a cheerful demeanor, you inspire and contribute to a positive work climate. Furthermore, you have an easy time seeing the bigger picture and switching between different perspectives and tasks. You do not need to know everything, but you should be curious, flexible, and open!
