We are looking for a Data Scientist for a government agency in Stockholm.

This is a consulting assignment.

The position is full-time, and security clearance is required.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and teamwork.

The Assignment

The agency is responsible for ensuring that the electricity transmission system is safe, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly - today and in the future. It operates as a state-owned enterprise and has over 1500 employees, the majority of whom work at the head office in Stockholm.

Since May 2024, there has been a unit within the agency that specifically deals with so-called Facility Analysis: data-driven work to address management and maintenance issues. The unit works with several different clients, both within and outside the agency. The deliveries produced by the unit consist, for example, of compiled statistics, analysis materials, or data tools.

To achieve the intended pace of development, resources are needed that can both perform analyses together with experts and increase data availability for the organization as a whole. Here, the Facility Analysis unit and you as a consultant are very important through driving various development projects for the organization. Responsibilities

• Work with coding and data preparation in Power BI DAX and SQL
• Create intuitive and clear visualizations in Power BI that answer the client's questions
• Collect, interpret, and create tools through dialogue with various data stakeholders in the organization
• Select appropriate statistical or ML algorithms for the built models
• Coding in Python may occur in some projects
• Be able to explain the limitations and choices made in the data models created
• Carefully document the work done

Work typically occurs in small groups of 2 - 3 people who drive a specific development project.

Requirements (Note, mandatory)

Master's degree from a university (120 credits) in data and systems science. Alternatively, a master's degree (120 credits) in mathematics, electrical power, or energy with at least 30 credits in data and programming. At least 2 years of work experience with Power BI. At least 2 years of work experience with SQL. At least 2 years of work experience in projects involving data analysis and data visualization. At least 2 years of work experience in planning, leading, and coordinating the development of requirements for systems or data for system development.

Preferred Qualifications

At least 2 years of work experience in the energy sector. At least 2 years of work experience in work order management, facility management, or other relevant experience with IFS or UBW or similar business systems. At least 2 years of work experience in coding in Python. At least 2 years of work experience with version control.
