BUP's DBT team is looking for a licensed psychologist.

We are seeking a licensed psychologist with a strong interest and commitment to working with teenagers and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT-A).

The DBT team is part of the Intensive Outpatient Care section within BUP in Stockholm. We offer dialectical behavior therapy for youth aged 13-17 and their families where the youth has issues involving recurrent self-harm, suicide attempts, and emotional instability. The unit's mission also includes outreach work and internal method development, as well as collaboration within the section.

The DBT team consists of 28 employees with various professions; psychologist, doctor, social worker, nurse, therapist, and administrator. The services include both individual treatment, skills training in groups for youth and parents/significant others, as well as family sessions, parent sessions, and telephone support. The services also include outreach work such as consultations, lectures, and collaboration with care neighbors. We provide ongoing training for staff in the method and in issues related to our target group. Regular external supervision is included in consultation team meetings. The staff group is very experienced and has a strong commitment to working with methodological fidelity and continuously developing our services. Our reception is located at Krukmakargatan 37A (near Zinkensdamm).

Job Description

As a psychologist on the DBT team, you will conduct treatment work both individually and in family and skills training groups according to DBT-A. The work is done in close collaboration with colleagues in one of our four consultation teams and also in cooperation with other units within BUP, particularly within the Intensive Outpatient Care section. You will also participate in outreach work and, if interested, in method development.

Qualifications

Licensed psychologist and psychotherapy training with a CBT focus is a requirement.

DBT training is an advantage. Experience with DBT with teenagers or young adults with complex psychiatric issues is highly valued.

BUP DBT team is part of BUP Stockholm. BUP Stockholm offers specialized psychiatric care for children and adolescents from 0 to 17 years within Stockholm County. We are part of the Stockholm County Healthcare Area, which is a provider within Region Stockholm. Together, we within BUP have about 1,000 employees who each year meet over 22,000 children, adolescents, and their families.

The position will be filled on the condition that it is not needed for internal relocation, according to applicable regulations.

For patient-related work within Stockholm County Healthcare Area:

  • background checks will be applied before hiring decisions according to applicable guidelines.
  • employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination, according to applicable directives, which is done through occupational health services before employment.
  • in addition to Swedish professional license, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required. The same requirements apply to non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
