With the inauguration of a new train tunnel under the city this summer, a transformation of the old harbor into a new urban area, and significant development pressure throughout the municipality, Varberg Municipality is engaged in very intensive development work.

With a well-developed and transparent community-building process, the urban planning office plays a central role in the work for tomorrow's Varberg. The urban planning office, together with the municipality's other community-building administrations, has recently gathered in shared premises in our newly renovated city hall.

Today, around 90 people work in the urban planning office, distributed across five departments: the land surveying department, the building permit department, the planning department, geographic information, and quality and development.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a land surveyor with the competence and drive to contribute to Varberg's development and achieve its vision.

You will handle land surveying proceedings and participate in the ongoing detailed planning process. Your tasks will also include property law advice and service both within the municipality and to the public. The work is developing and varied. You will have the opportunity to take on various types of land surveying proceedings both within and outside the detailed plan, including complex and more extensive cases such as construction, easement, and 3D proceedings, as your competence allows. Tasks such as measurement and mapping work can be adapted according to needs and interests. If you have very high competence and experience in complex property law issues/cases, there are also great opportunities to take on an expert role in the office.

You will be part of a workgroup with broad expertise that strives for high quality and good service and constitutes a great team. The land surveying department currently has two surveying assistants and 14 land surveyors in service, of which two are temporary employees. You will take significant personal responsibility and work together with colleagues with different areas of expertise.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have at least a 3-year university degree in land surveying and property formation, are a lawyer with property law expertise, or have equivalent competence assessed as equivalent. Experience in handling surveying proceedings is an advantage.

The tasks require the ability to manage a work process and make decisions. As a person, you are self-assured, meticulous, and analytical. You should be collaborative and willing to share your knowledge. You have a focus on the assignment, enjoy an outward-facing role, and have good communication skills in Swedish, both orally and in writing. A B driver's license for manual transmission is required.
