About the Position

You will work on developing and implementing models of radar systems, as well as analyzing the properties and performance of these systems. You will also work with data analysis from radar systems. Examples of specific tasks include programming a radar model to calculate its potential range against different types of drones. Another example could be performing statistical analysis of radar data collected over a longer period. The role involves varied tasks with a focus on theoretical development work. You will write reports in Swedish for our clients and, if necessary, contribute written material for scientific publication in English. The purpose of our work is to assess the benefits for Sweden's defense of new technologies, methods, and products in the radar field.

About the Unit

FOI has four locations: Stockholm, Umeå, Grindsjön, and Linköping. You will be part of the Radar Systems unit, which belongs to the Electronic Warfare department. The Radar Systems unit analyzes and evaluates methods and techniques for radar reconnaissance and surveillance, analyzes the properties and performance of the Armed Forces' radar systems, and develops new radar system concepts.
