Job Responsibilities

Malmö Citadellsgymnasium is looking for a counselor with a strong commitment to students' learning, health, and development. A central part of the role is to be responsible for the work with absence investigations and the attendance-promoting efforts. Furthermore, the assignment includes assisting the school with psychosocial competence at all organizational levels and contributing to school development. The role also involves working towards a well-functioning student health service that supports students' development towards the goals of education.

The main job responsibilities include:

Conducting conversations with individual students based on school-related issues
Conducting occasional conversations for assessment and referral to other agencies
Conducting group conversations with students
Collaborating with the student's guardians, school staff, and external authorities and organizations
Guiding and informing school staff on psychosocial issues
Participating in the school's student health team and contributing psychosocial competence
Participating in the school's systematic quality and development work
Working on students' work environment, e.g., the school's value-based work
Contributing knowledge to teaching, e.g., substance abuse prevention
Assessing students for special school admission
Managing study financial issues
Supervising social work candidates
Documenting in the counselor's record in Prorenata

Qualifications

Requirements:

Degree in social work (210 credits)
Several years of experience in social work focused on children and youth
Good insight into the school's goals and governing documents
Good digital skills
Proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written.

Meritorious:

Training in motivational interviewing
Experience working with children and youth within social services
Previous experience as a school counselor
Good experience collaborating with other authorities and being part of various networks.

The job requires that you are confident in your professional role, can work independently, are proactive, and have a good ability to see opportunities in different situations. As a person, you have a good demeanor and a strong ability to plan and prioritize your work. You have good collaboration skills and an interest in working together in teams with different professional categories. Your approach is relational, salutogenic, and focused on health-promoting and preventive work. You are flexible, attentive, and have an easy time building trust and good relationships with students, guardians, colleagues, and external partners.

The position includes:

Profession-specific introduction

Participation in profession-specific quality and development work
Ongoing profession-specific support from coordinated counselors

School counselors are offered regular external supervision.
