Pedagogical Assistant in Preschool

The Sámi School Board is a government authority with its office located in Jåhkåmåhkke, including a school principal, controllers, HR, and caseworkers.

The Sámi school is an educational form equivalent to primary school, offering instruction from preschool to grade 6. The starting point for teaching is the Sámi culture and the Sámi language according to the curriculum for Sámi schools. The Sámi School Board also operates preschools in agreement with the respective municipalities. The Sámi School Board has operations in Giron, Gárasavvon, Váhtjer, Jåhkåmåhkke, and Dearna.

The Sámi School Board organizes distance education in the Sámi languages and supports the development and production of teaching materials for Sámi education.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You will work as a pedagogical assistant in preschool for one child. You have the ability to see all children and consider their individual circumstances. You contribute to their learning. You can observe and base your work on the interactions in the group to develop the child's ability to communicate, as well as listen to, interpret, and understand others' viewpoints and ways of expressing themselves. You enjoy building relationships with children, guardians, and colleagues. Together with other colleagues in the work team, you will be responsible for the development, planning, implementation, and follow-up/evaluation of the activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying have at least a three-year upper secondary education with a pedagogical focus or other education deemed suitable by the employer. It is an advantage if you have work experience with children with needs. You have patience, problem-solving skills, and are positive and creative. You are good at seeing opportunities. You have good collaboration skills and an interest in building relationships. You are meticulous, flexible, and attentive to the children's needs and enjoy working with children and youth. Since we work in a Sámi environment, it is important to have knowledge of and be well acquainted with the Sámi language and culture. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. We are looking for someone with documented good collaboration skills.
