Working as a measurement engineer within Falu municipality means you will be involved in the entire measurement process – from data collection to analysis, delivery, and follow-up. We are based in the Egnellska house in central Falun but spend large parts of our workday outdoors. The assignments cover the entire municipality, from the city center to the outskirts. We collaborate both within the administration and across administrative boundaries and meet many different companies and individuals in our assignments. Job Responsibilities

In the role of measurement engineer, your work often involves interesting problem-solving. The tasks may include house staking, position checks, project measurements, updating base maps, utility measurements, property measurements, interpretation, and measurement in aerial images of various objects using ESPA. The technical tools we currently use in our work are Trimble total stations, GNSS, and UAVs. The relevant programs are TopoCad, Geosecma, Agisoft Metashape, Global Mapper, ESPA, etc.

The position primarily involves measurement technical work but also includes mapping in various GIS software and collaboration with, among others, the construction department, development, traffic and land, private individuals, and companies.

Qualifications

The following is required for the role:

• Degree from a measurement technical education of at least 2 years
• Experience in handling and working with today’s modern measuring instruments
• Practical knowledge in geodetic measurement technology, cartography/mapping, and GIS
• Driver's license, manual

Personal Qualities

Since the work involves collaboration with many different actors, it is important that you are service-oriented, flexible, and have good collaboration skills. We also prefer that you are development-oriented, structured, and have high social competence.

Meritorious Qualifications

• Experience in municipal measurement work
• Experience working with Trimble measuring instruments
• Experience with ArcGIS/Geosecma
• Experience in processing and visualizing 3D
• Documented theoretical knowledge according to the Land Surveyor's recommendations (or recommendations from similar operations) for assessing "basic measurement technical skills" as outlined in the new HMK

Employment Conditions

The position is a permanent employment starting from June 1, 2025 (or by agreement) with a 6-month probationary period.
