Orsa Besparingsskog was established in connection with the land consolidation in the late 1800s. The revenue from the forest has strongly contributed to the development of the local community, and this is still the case today. Today, Orsa Besparingsskog manages approximately 75,000 hectares of land. The core business today consists of forestry, its own tree nursery, hunting and fishing, cabin rentals, road management, and asset management. The forest is the foundation of the business.

Orsa and Besparingsskog are geographically located in a borderland between Dalarna and Hälsingland with an office in central Orsa. We currently have 25 employees and a turnover of approximately 100 million SEK.

Do you want to help develop forest properties with a focus on both business acumen and sustainability? We are looking for a property developer who wants to drive the development of our property holdings through strategic investments, land transactions, and innovative projects. Here, you will play a key role in an organization where forestry, property development, and sustainable initiatives meet.

About the role

As a property developer, you will be responsible for operationally managing and coordinating property matters, including land transactions, easements, and other rights of use. You will also lead development efforts aimed at maximizing the value of the property holdings through long-term strategies and business development. The role involves close collaboration with managers and other internal and external stakeholders.

Examples of tasks

  • Participate in the development and implementation of a long-term property strategy
  • Build a property development bank for upcoming projects
  • Drive and project-manage initiatives such as solar parks, carbon credits, extraction activities, tourism, and other business development
  • Develop plans for the divestment and acquisition of forest land
  • Manage property transactions, easements, land leases, and other rights of use
  • Be responsible for the establishment of community facilities, primarily roads
  • Budget responsibility
  • Advising and coordinating property legal issues
Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a relevant academic degree in areas such as property law, land surveying, forestry, or law. You have experience in strategic property work and project management, as well as a good understanding of property law, land issues, and permit management. Experience in business development and analysis of property value is advantageous, as is a strong communicative ability and experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders both internally and externally. We work in various IT and GIS systems.

Personal qualities

To succeed in this role, you need to have the ability to drive work from idea to implementation. You are relationship-building, confident in your leadership role, and have good collaboration skills. Furthermore, you are solution-oriented, innovative, and responsible, while also having a strategic and business-driven approach to your work.
