Curator for the Field Group

We are currently looking for a new curator for the Field Group at the Social Services Department’s Support and Prevention unit, targeting youth aged 13-18.

About the Position

At the Field Group, we work to ensure that young people who expose themselves to risks are recognized and receive support for positive change. In the Field Group, you work preventively with youth aged 13-18. You spend time in environments where young people are present during the day, evenings, and weekends to identify those at risk. You are a support for those who want and need it. You offer supportive and motivational conversations to youth and their parents to contribute to positive development. In your daily work, you operate from the field group and spend a lot of time in various areas of Örebro municipality where outreach work takes place. You work independently and collaborate with other field assistants in the team.

We work a lot with collaboration and give lectures to spread knowledge about various youth-related topics. As a field assistant, schools, youth centers, and the police are some of the partners you work closely with.

About the Workplace

The Support and Prevention unit consists of the Field Group, the Curator Group, Support Center for Young Crime Victims, Mediation Activities, Sputnik, and SSPF. The Field Group's office is located at Nygatan 16A in central Örebro. We are 8 field assistants/curators working with youth throughout Örebro municipality, wherever young people are. We also have two SSPF coordinators with us.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is confident in themselves and in their interactions with youth. You are flexible and used to taking your own initiatives to drive your work forward. You are outgoing and socially active in professional contexts. Furthermore, we are looking for someone who enjoys creating contacts and maintaining relationships. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively. You thrive in working independently as well as together with others in a team. You have a good ability to communicate on an individual level and group level, but also in forums where collaboration is relevant.

We place great importance on personal suitability.

Requirements:

degree in social work of 210 credits, or another academic education of at least 210 higher education credits that the employer assesses as equivalent
driver's license for manual transmission

Meritorious:

experience in/training in MI (motivational interviewing)
experience in similar work with children and youth that the employer finds relevant for the position
experience in multicultural social work

Scope and Start Date

Employment type: 2 permanent positions, 1 temporary position until August 2026

Employment rate: 100%

Start date: by agreement

Number of positions: 3

Working hours: Day, evening, and weekend

The positions will be filled subject to the necessary decisions being made.
