Your Role

Saab Flight Test Gripen is looking for an aviation-interested and technically driven engineer to work with the verification and validation of training simulators and systems to plan and evaluate missions.

In this role, you will be a key person ensuring that Gripen's tactical planning and evaluation systems meet the needs of the armed forces, as well as ensuring that the training simulator meets the requirements for realistic and effective training experiences for a Gripen pilot.

As a test engineer within support systems, you will;

• Utilize your knowledge of how a fighter aircraft is flown and used tactically to conduct verification and validation testing.
• Work with development teams to ensure that the usability, performance, and functionalities of the systems meet technical and operational requirements.
• Support development by participating in tests and evaluations to ensure that the systems reflect realistic conditions and scenarios.
• Complete a multi-year certification program for flight test engineers.

Your Profile

To thrive in this role, you are curious and have a strong desire to develop and learn more about the technology and use of our systems. You should appreciate the combination of working in a team with your colleagues but also independently and occasionally close to customers. As a person, you are structured, meticulous, and enjoy working with preparations and documentation in English. You have the ability to take a step back and see the bigger picture. We also see that you have a good ability to adapt to different situations and quickly solve emerging problems.

• You are a university or civil engineer or have other relevant technical education.
• Have experience in development, or verification and validation, of complex technical systems.
• Are knowledgeable and engaged in aviation, defense technology, and tactical use of combat aircraft systems.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may entail requirements for certain citizenship.
