Our client is seeking an experienced Power BI developer for the management and development of their BI platform, which consists of Microsoft Power BI Report Server and Microsoft SQL Server. The assignment aims to provide business data for visualization and analysis, as well as to optimize and ensure smooth usage and management of reporting solutions. The work is conducted in an agile manner in close collaboration with product owners and the business to create solutions that are both functional and easy to manage.

Responsibilities:

• Capture business needs and transform them into user stories together with product owners.
• Develop and enhance custom visualizations and interaction capabilities in reports.
• Work in a proposal-driven manner with rapid iterations and solve problems efficiently.
• Support the business in testing and troubleshooting reports, both new and existing.
• Manage security, permissions, and access controls, including the implementation of row-level security (RLS).
• Maintain and develop data integrations between various systems and Power BI.
• Provide advice on data warehousing and how these can be adapted for Power BI reporting.
• Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the reporting flow.
• Implement API calls and real-time queries to databases for faster data access.
• Build and optimize data flows to improve performance and handling of large data volumes.
• Collaborate with the data protection officer to ensure that all data sharing complies with regulatory requirements and guidelines.
• Document solutions and processes according to standards.

Requirements:

• At least 9–12 years of experience in system development and BI solutions.
• Fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Experience working with Power BI Report Server and developing similar solutions.
• At least two (2) reference assignments with the same tasks as those described in this assignment.
• One of the reference assignments should be directed towards the public sector.
• Experience working with Power BI and related technologies in data integration and visualization.
• Experience working with security, permissions, and row-level security (RLS) in BI solutions.
• Ability to quickly understand business needs and translate them into effective solutions.
• Experience working in an agile manner and contributing to rapid iterative development.

Meritorious:

• Experience working with SQL Server and Microsoft's BI platform.
• Experience from government assignments and the public sector.
• Knowledge of data protection and how it is implemented within BI solutions.

Workplace: The assignment will be performed remotely, but travel to Härnösand and Stockholm may occur as needed, e.g., for workshops and meetings.

Duration: Start: 2025-06-02 End: 2027-06-01 (with an option for extension: 1+1 year)

Other:

• The assignment will be carried out in close collaboration with SPSM's business owners and IT unit.
• Documentation of the work is an important part of the assignment, where delivered solutions should be easy to manage and further develop.
