The Social Administration works to ensure that all citizens, when needed, can receive the support they may require in various situations. This is done within the framework of social services' mission and various legislations, as well as based on the values of the Social Administration. The Social Administration is divided into five areas: Home Care, care and nursing homes, health and medical care, individual and family care, and the area for people with disabilities.
Villa Strå is a care and nursing home that is currently under construction and is expected to be ready for occupancy in September 2025. The facility will accommodate 80 tenants. It will be a mixed residence for individuals with cognitive impairments and/or somatic illnesses. Today, tenants move into our homes later in life. By that time, they have generally developed a more complex and deeper problem related to their illness, often a combination of cognitive impairment, multiple diseases, and mental health issues.
At Villa Strå, we are creating an organization with the competence to meet the increasingly complex needs of our tenants. In addition to high-quality care and nursing work, Villa Strå will focus heavily on nature and outdoor activities. Today, there is research and strong evidence that access to nature has a positive impact on people's health. At Villa Strå, we are making a structural investment in outdoor activities with nature as a source of strength.
