We are looking for a nurse for the Forensic Psychiatric Department 8, placement within inpatient care with outpatient assignments.

The forensic psychiatry within Region Örebro County is in an exciting development phase, and in September we will take a step forward by opening a brand new department. This expansion, combined with our further development of the concept of flexible work as a nurse with both inpatient and outpatient patients, allows us to take a step further in the development of our operations. In this recruitment, we are therefore looking for an engaged, driven, and licensed nurse who wants to help further develop our working methods.

The forensic psychiatry is located in Mellringe and at Karlahuset in Örebro. Our mission is to provide care and treatment according to the Forensic Psychiatric Care Act (LRV), focusing on creating a safe and developing environment for both patients and staff. A structured care process unites our joint work, and within the organization, caregivers, treatment assistants, nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, psychologists, medical care administrators, and chief physicians work together.

Patients generally have complex issues, making the work varied and stimulating. When you start working with us, you will receive an individually tailored introduction, and during your employment, you will be offered ongoing opportunities for professional development. Here, you will be welcomed to a pleasant workplace with challenging tasks, and various projects are conducted within the organization to improve care and patient participation.

Region Örebro County is one of the county's largest employers and an important growth engine in the region. We work for people's health, safety, and well-being and for the development of the county. With us, there are exciting and important jobs in areas such as health and medical care, dental care, public transport, culture, and business development. Together we create a better life.

Job Responsibilities

In daily nursing work, you will start from inpatient care and perform standard nursing tasks such as medication management, leadership, and care, as well as actively participate in various care forums such as care planning and rounds.

The department also manages the organization's outpatient patients and those patients who are in transition, and in this role as an inpatient nurse with outpatient assignments, you will have a central role and be the responsible nurse for patients. This means that you will be the leader for the outpatient assignment and have allocated administrative time to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Common contacts with patients include medication administration during outpatient visits, follow-ups via phone, and in some cases home visits. Your responsibilities include close collaboration with other care staff, care neighbors, and partners. You may also be expected to guide special housing in patient-specific matters. You are also expected to contribute to the development of the organization and take responsibility for improving the parts of care that you are responsible for. As a nurse, you will mentor students and introduce new staff.

Additional Information

As we in Psychiatry care for our patients and value patient safety highly, we will request extracts from the suspicion and criminal records from the National Police Board during the recruitment process. More information about the suspicion and criminal records can be found in SFS 1999:1135 and SFS 1999:1134.
