The neuropsychiatric team caters to children and adolescents with autism and average intelligence from the age of 7 until they finish high school. In the neuropsychiatric team, you will collaborate with 6 psychologists, 6 social workers, 2 speech therapists, 5 occupational therapists, 4 special educators, doctors, team secretaries, and a unit manager.

The Child and Adolescent Rehabilitation (BUH) is tasked with providing support and interventions based on the needs of children and adolescents with disabilities, as well as their families and networks. In the geographically divided team, the professional categories of social worker, speech therapist, occupational therapist, psychologist, special educator, doctor, team secretary, and unit manager collaborate.

Job Responsibilities

The work involves teamwork with interventions aimed at children and adolescents with autism and average intelligence, as well as their families. As an occupational therapist in the neuropsychiatric team, you will meet many children and adolescents in conversations. The aim is often to provide a deeper understanding of what it means to live with autism and to provide strategies for managing everyday life. In your work, you will also meet parents in discussions about how they can adapt and respond to their child based on autism-related issues. The varied tasks include assessing and treating the child's/adolescent's functional and activity abilities, including areas such as personal care and time management.

The position also involves leading youth groups and conducting courses and lectures on various themes within the autism field. More examples of job responsibilities include planning, assessment, and collaboration with partners around the individual child and family.

The position is directed towards the neuropsychiatric team, which is county-wide, but the placement is at the child rehabilitation center in Örebro. Qualifications

Licensed occupational therapist. Experience and interest in working with children and adolescents with autism is desirable. Travel is included in the position, so a driver's license is required.
