About the Unit
The Swedish Armed Forces Parachute School (FMFS), also known as the Special Forces Parachute School (SFS), is a unit within the Armed Forces' special forces system (FMSF) located in Karlsborg. The main task of the parachute school is parachute operations and is responsible for all parachute operations within the Armed Forces. FMFS is a relatively small unit filled with specialist competence in all areas of parachute operations. FMFS trains, develops, and maintains the parachute capability of all airborne units and the ability for air supply, both nationally and internationally.
Like other units within the FMSF, FMFS has high demands for availability, readiness, and operational safety. This places specific requirements on equipment, training, and competence and requires high availability and a specific personal profile for the staff at the unit.
About the Position
The Flight Systems Section at the Swedish Armed Forces Parachute School is responsible for ensuring that air delivery equipment is system-worthy. The section's technical tasks are functionally led by the Air Staff's Technical and Maintenance Department but are managed by the head of FMFS.
As a systems engineer, you will work with the leadership of the parachute school, other staff at the Air Staff, and the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) on air delivery equipment (parachutes and other functional equipment for dropping and air delivery). The focus of the work aims to ensure the conditions for the parachute school to maintain the individual status of the equipment.
You will work with a large network of contacts within and outside the Armed Forces, FMV, and with manufacturers and suppliers. Supplier technical documentation is in English, which means that technical questions are presented both orally and in writing in English. You may be on high alert and travel for work both domestically and internationally is common. Working hours outside of office hours may occur.

You have the ability to organize and structure your work while being flexible when needs arise. Attention to detail should also be a key word for you, as safety is a central point for our operations.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
