Make a Difference. Every Day.
Do you have a genuine interest in mental health and are looking for new challenges? Then you might be the new colleague we are looking for! We are currently seeking three nursing assistants for our Adult Psychiatry Ward 3 Psychosis in Lund.
Ward 3 is an energetic, exciting, and well-functioning workplace with a team consisting of team leaders, nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, social workers, psychologists, physiotherapists, secretaries, and unit managers. We are a 24/7 ward with 16 care places where we primarily treat individuals with psychotic disorders and bipolar disorder, as well as other psychiatric diagnoses. We place a strong emphasis on presence and low-arousal responses. The work environment is highly valued, and the team cherishes good camaraderie with humor and open communication. In addition to a pleasant and exciting workplace, we offer an introduction and shadowing tailored to your skills and previous experiences.
We are transitioning to the title nursing assistant and will gradually phase out the title caregiver across all our psychiatric operations. This change started on November 1, 2023. The change in title will not affect the need for specialist competence in psychiatry. Specialist competence remains very important and will continue to be developed. Within the administration, work has begun to review what is needed for continued professional development, increased professional knowledge, and development opportunities related to patient work.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We are now looking forward to welcoming two new colleagues to our ward, one for a permanent position and one for a fixed-term employment of one year.
We offer you an engaging and exciting job and want to contribute to your development both professionally and personally. In the role of nursing assistant with us, you will work with psychiatric treatment and care work and have an active role as a contact person. Here, you will work in interdisciplinary teams with doctors, nurses, social workers, and psychologists. Each day begins with structuring who will do what during the day with the help of a pulse board and pulse meetings.
With us, we prioritize close care work and time with patients. Nursing assistants and nurses work closely together and assist with administrative tasks to ensure that everyone is available for patients, including planning, walks, conversations, and contact with relatives. We work a lot with group activities and have various groups focusing on relaxation, creativity, recovery, and physical activity with our patients.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant or specialist nursing assistant in psychiatry. This means you have a recognized upper secondary education in health and care (2500 points), a recognized health and care education via adult education (minimum 1350 points), or another equivalent nursing assistant education. Since the work largely involves communication and documentation, good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, are required. You also master basic medical technical procedures at the nursing assistant level.
We prefer that you have experience working as a caregiver and/or nursing assistant. If you also have experience working in psychiatry, that is particularly meritorious. Since the work can be physically demanding, it is a plus if you have an interest in training and exercise. Additionally, good computer skills and basic knowledge of our journal system Melior are advantageous.
You have a genuine interest in psychiatric care and always put the patient in focus. Furthermore, you have good prioritization skills and contribute to a good work environment. For the role, it is important to remain calm and have a low-arousal response in stressful situations, which is why we are looking for someone who is secure and stable as a person. With a high sense of service and responsibility, as well as good collaboration skills, you humbly meet the situation that the patient and their relatives are facing. Additionally, you enjoy mentoring students and feel comfortable in that role. We are keen to find the right individuals and therefore place great importance on personal suitability.
Please attach your nursing assistant certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare if you have received it or your diploma with your application. If you have not yet received the certificate, you will be given the title of care assistant in the meantime. If you were permanently employed as a nursing assistant on July 1, 2023, or if you wish to retain the title caregiver and were employed as such before November 1, 2023, please provide a certificate confirming this.
A background check will be conducted before any employment.
We use ongoing selection in this recruitment, so we warmly welcome your application today!
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
As of July 1, 2023, the title nursing assistant became a protected professional title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant within health and care. If you currently have a permanent position as a nursing assistant and are offered a new position, you can retain your title as a nursing assistant until June 30, 2033. At any interview/employment, you will need to present proof of the protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare or a certificate that you were permanently employed on July 1, 2023. If you do not currently have a professional certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare or are covered by transitional provisions, this means that the title in your employment contract will be care assistant and not nursing assistant.
