Job Advertisement: Vocational Teacher for the Child and Recreation Program

We are now facing an upcoming retirement at the Child and Recreation Program and are therefore looking for a new colleague. Would you like to work in an engaged program team where we together, in close collaboration with the student health team and the principal, create good conditions for our students' learning and development?

At Vadsbogymnasiet in Mariestad, eleven national programs are offered, both university preparatory and vocational. There is also sports specialization, young entrepreneurship, and program certifications. The school currently has over 700 students and about 75 educators. Here, we work together in program teams, close to the principal and the various professions in student health.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a vocational teacher in the Child and Recreation Program, with a focus on pedagogical and social work, you will be an important part of the program team.

You have an interest in developing the program's core courses and in close collaboration with your colleagues, further develop the program towards the future. You want to continue to develop the program's good relationships with the relevant labor market. As a person, you are secure, and teamwork is a given for you. It is important that you have the ability and willingness to create motivation, enthusiasm, and energy among your students.

In your role, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, evaluating, and developing the teaching within the core subjects of the program:

• Pedagogy
• Special Education
• Pedagogical Work
• Social Work
• Preschool and After-School Care Work
• Sociology

Together with colleagues, you will be responsible for the procurement and follow-up of APL (workplace-based learning). The work also includes mentoring assignments where you have an overarching role in following your students' knowledge development and study situation during their three years in the program.

Vadsbogymnasiet is a school characterized by safety and study peace where students and staff thrive and can focus on learning and education. The school has a low turnover of teachers.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be qualified for this position, a teaching license and eligibility to teach in the core subjects of the Child and Recreation Program with a focus on pedagogical and social work are required.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is an engaged teacher with the student's needs at the center.
• Sees and understands both the individual student's and the group's needs and plans and adapts teaching accordingly.
• Has a good ability to build secure professional relationships with students.
• Enjoys working together with teachers and other professionals in the school to create good conditions for students to achieve their goals.
• Has the ability and willingness to create motivation and interest in learning among students.
• Is a secure and flexible person who enjoys working in a team but also has the drive and ability to work independently based on the assignment.
• Has an interest in and experience of participating in processes and development work related to didactic, pedagogical, and special educational issues.

A driving license (B) is a requirement.
