About Me:

I am a 12-year-old boy living with my mom in Hammarby Sjöstad. My dad and older brother, who is 16, currently live in northern Småland, and I visit them as often as I can.

I have recently been granted personal assistance, which means I can play with my friends after school, spend time with my large family, and pursue my interests. I need your help with taking my EP medication and sometimes with reflux issues. I cannot speak, but I communicate through signs or eye contact.

Physical activity is important to me, and I need your help with daily movement, swimming lessons, and other leisure activities. You will also support me with cooking, during meals, and with showering and bathing at home.

About You:

Are you caring, patient, and sensitive enough to understand that you are assisting me in my life? I am looking for you - a calm and secure person with good physical fitness, humor, and attention to detail. You speak good Swedish, as I sometimes need your help to communicate in both writing and speech.

It is an advantage if you have an interest in cooking, as I need help finding good and healthy food and losing weight. You should also be fearless and flexible, as my life includes trips to places like Småland, Gotland, or sometimes abroad. Since I love spending time with family and friends, you need to be social and comfortable in social settings. Assisting me in my daily life, including my personal needs, is a natural part of the job.

Staffing:

This position includes an extended (and compensated) staffing assignment, which means that some weeks you must be available at times other than working hours to call in a substitute or step in to assist when intervention is required. This is Assistans i Balans's way of ensuring that our clients always have a familiar assistant by their side. The assignment is shared by all assistants working on a regular schedule.

The Position:

Is for 50% varied working hours, days, evenings, and weekends on a rolling schedule.
