JOB DESCRIPTION
If you want to support young people out of crime and addiction, then this is the job for you!
MST has been in Halmstad since 2003 and is one of the methods recommended by the National Board of Health and Welfare for the target group. The MST team in Halmstad is a team with good results that contributes to families receiving help at home.
We are looking for a flexible person with good collaboration skills to join our team. This job is for you who are drawn to helping families break difficult behaviors and who see a challenge and joy in coordinating families, their networks, and other partners to help the youth continue to live with their family at home.
Multisystemic Therapy (MST) is an evidence-based outpatient intervention aimed at families with children and adolescents aged 10 to 18 who are at risk of being placed outside the home due to serious behavioral problems such as crime, addiction, school issues, and aggression.
As an MST therapist, you work from a systematic understanding of the youth's behaviors.
We work with guardians as primary partners to bring about changes in the youth's life, together with the youth. We work with the entire network and support the youth towards a positive change at home.
In addition to the family, schools, leisure activities, and the police are important partners in our work.
Together with the team leader and MST consultant, you are responsible for ensuring that the work with the family is structured and goal-oriented.
You will receive basic training in MST, weekly supervision and consultation, as well as ongoing lectures from MST consultants and further training in the method.
As a therapist, you will work with about three to five families at a time and work intensively with the families in their change process. The work is free, flexible, and dynamic; in a short time, we can be involved in significant positive changes. The work mainly takes place in the families' homes and at times that suit them, which results in flexible working hours sometimes outside of office hours. Each MST therapist has on-call duty every fifth week, during which they are available for advice via phone to families around the clock. Each week, treatment is followed up, and ongoing work is planned through a written report.
The MST team in Halmstad belongs to Youth Treatment and consists of four therapists and one team leader; we are now looking for a new colleague as one team member is going on parental leave.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is a trained social worker or equivalent. Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing, is required, as training and some supervision are provided by the American MST organization.
As a therapist, you need to be able to work in a structured and independent manner. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
Experience in family work, crime and addiction, multisystemic network work, and work with children and adolescents is meritorious.
A driver's license - for manual transmission is a requirement.
