JOB DESCRIPTION

We are now looking for two colleagues to Morellvägen group home who want to be part of our team. As a support assistant, you will work to support and coach adults with disabilities such as intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injuries, autism, autism spectrum disorders, and dementia.

You support and motivate users in daily activities to increase independence according to each individual's ability. Your tasks include assisting residents with personal care, cleaning, laundry, shopping, and various activities. It also includes delegated tasks from a nurse such as medication management, administering insulin, and sometimes rehabilitative and training interventions from a physiotherapist.

We prefer that you have experience working as a support assistant in group or service housing within LSS with the target group of individuals with various disabilities such as autism, intellectual disabilities, and challenging behaviors.

Follow the regulations regarding social documentation, work with the establishment of action plans, and follow up on individual goals and sub-goals.

Maintain a low-arousal and respectful approach focusing on the participant's involvement and influence. You will contribute to the quality development of the operations and participate in various meetings, training, and supervision. Work is carried out with great respect for the residents' right to self-determination and integrity. The tasks require personal responsibility, flexibility, and initiative.

We place high demands on collaboration skills, communication, and understanding the importance of teamwork. To fit in with us, you need to be confident, fearless, and able to remain calm. It is required that you as staff are attentive, patient, and able to handle many different tasks simultaneously.

The unit collaborates with other units, and you will work at multiple workplaces based on the needs of the operations. Working hours are day/evening/on-call and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for the position, we see that you have completed a nursing program, child and leisure program with a focus on social and pedagogical work, or other equivalent education/experience focused on disabilities.

You should also have knowledge of working with challenging behaviors and clear pedagogical approaches based on low-arousal responses.

You have good communication skills and good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing, experience in documentation, and basic computer skills.

A B driver's license is an advantage.
