Your Role

Do you enjoy working at the forefront of technology? We are now looking for those who want to work as test engineers for unmanned aerial vehicles. We are in the starting blocks to begin testing our new products, and we need test engineers who lead and participate in all forms of testing required.

Working at Flight Testing as a test engineer is both challenging and exciting! Here we contribute to the development of Sweden's defense capability, and now the focus is on future testing methodologies and technical solutions in the aviation field. You will become part of our sharp team that is involved in developing the future replacements for today's aircraft.

As a test engineer, you will work closely with Saab's flying products where you plan and conduct testing in aircraft, simulators, and rigs. You will, among other things, develop test methodologies and test programs, prepare and lead tests, and analyze and evaluate the results. Tests are conducted at various test stations such as hardware rigs, simulators, and aircraft. During flight tests, you will monitor the flight in real-time. Since testing produces a large amount of data, Python, Linux, Git, and other automation tools, such as Jenkins, are utilized.

In addition to this, troubleshooting and problem-solving of the complex systems in aircraft with associated rigs are included. The work involves a stimulating combination of theory and practical product-related work. We work in project form, and you will be part of a team that works with test-related issues - all the way from design to validated product. A team may consist of a pilot, development engineers, and test engineers.

We have a comprehensive training program that is carried out in several stages to become an authorized test engineer, which, in addition to personal development and knowledge building, gives you the opportunity to lead more advanced and risky tests. There may also be opportunities to work shorter or longer periods abroad, as part of the operations takes place in an international environment.

Your Profile

Great importance will be placed on your personal qualities, and we assume that you are a positive and proactive person who enjoys working in teams as well as independently. You are analytical, flexible, curious about technology, and find it fun to understand how things work.

To succeed in the role, we see that:

• You are a university or master's engineer.
• You preferably have a couple of years of work experience in a relevant field.
• You have very good knowledge of both Swedish and English as our documentation predominantly occurs in English.

The position requires that you undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for certain citizenship.
