Occupational Therapist for Neurological Department

About the Role

As an Occupational Therapist at Furuhöjden, all professional groups collaborate to provide each patient with individually tailored rehabilitation. We receive both acute and planned neurological patients, which allows you to work broadly with multiple neurological diagnoses. This role also includes home visits to our patients.

As an Occupational Therapist with us, you will assess the patient's functional and ADL abilities and plan an individual rehabilitation plan for their stay together with the patient and the team. You will train and guide our patients, both individually and in groups. There is often a focus on managing cognitive challenges and brain fatigue. This includes cognitive mapping as well as work on activity balance and memory strategies to facilitate our patients' ability to adapt their activities according to their abilities. A common part of the job is also training to improve the patient's ADL and hand function, which is central for many undergoing neurological rehabilitation. Your tasks will also include social planning, prescribing aids, liaising with external parties, documentation, and writing various certificates. It is essential that you are accustomed to independently assessing, guiding, and treating patients with neurological issues. Since we work in teams around the guest, nursing is also included in the job responsibilities.

About You

We are looking for a licensed Occupational Therapist. To fit well into this role, we see that you should be flexible and enjoy varied tasks. Requirements:

• Licensed occupational therapist
• Several years of work experience as an Occupational Therapist
• Experience with TakeCare
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

Meritorious:

• Experience with LifeCare
• Previous experience in inpatient rehabilitation
• Knowledge of various assessment instruments, such as MoCa
• Knowledge of cognitive strategies

Furuhöjden Rehabilitation is one of the largest providers of inpatient rehabilitation after acute care in the Stockholm Region. Recently, we have started specialized neurological rehabilitation after care in acute hospitals and have existing agreements with the Stockholm Region in orthopedics, thoracic surgery, general surgery, and neurology.

At Furuhöjden Rehab Center, we offer outpatient rehabilitation focused on neurology and orthopedics. Patients come here daily to train with professional staff in a calm environment. We work as a team with neurological day rehabilitation to achieve each patient's goals.

At Furuhöjden, we have short decision-making paths and work closely together to achieve the organization's goals. We have present managers, HR, and the CEO who all work in the same building as the organization to enhance opportunities for good collaboration and open communication.

Conditions

We have a collective agreement through Almega/Care Companies and apply individual salary setting. As an Occupational Therapist, you primarily work weekdays, Monday to Friday. The position is permanent at 100%. We also offer a wellness allowance of 5000 SEK per year, as well as occupational pension.

Selection and interviews are ongoing. We apply a probationary period of six months and conduct background checks in connection with this appointment.
