Do you have a strong commitment to society and an understanding of how structured leisure activities contribute to children and young people moving towards an independent adult life? Järva City District Administration is now looking for several summer substitute leisure leaders to create meaningful and varied summer activities for children and young people aged 10-15 years.
Fritid Järva 1 is responsible for several youth centers, park play areas, and day camp activities during the summer vacation.

Your role
As a leisure leader, you will work to offer children and young people an attractive leisure activity. During the summer, you will plan, implement, and follow up activities at both youth and leisure centers and park play areas together with children and young people and other leisure leaders. This summer, the unit will also run a day camp focusing on children aged 10-12 years in collaboration with civil society and other Stockholm City operations. The unit will also receive a large number of youth working during the summer that you will mentor, plan for, and distribute work for.
A large part of the activities takes place on weekends, afternoons, and evenings. Collaboration with local actors such as associations, schools, other functions, and the city district administration occurs daily. You are also expected to actively contribute to the unit's development work.
Your skills and experience
We are looking for you who:
- Are educated, or have ongoing education in, leisure leadership, leisure pedagogy, or equivalent education that the employer assesses as equivalent.
- Have current experience working with children and young people aged 10-15 years.
- Have knowledge in equality, gender, norm criticism, and LGBTQ issues, as we have extensive work to create equal, equitable, and accessible leisure centers.
It is meritorious if you have:
- Current experience as a leisure leader, youth leader, or sports leader
- Training in motivational interviewing (MI)
- Training in a norm-critical approach
- Experience from the association life
We are looking for you who feel a strong commitment and joy in working together with children and young people. You are secure in yourself and show a high degree of personal maturity, self-awareness, and integrity. You also find it easy to work with boundary setting in a trustworthy manner. You have a good ability to create relationships with both young people and adults and are creative and find new paths and solutions. You have a strong commitment and contribute to a good collaborative climate with colleagues, partners, and participants. You are resourceful, pedagogical, and proactive. You build on and utilize the competence, strength, and engagement of young people in your work. In your working method, you are structured, orderly, and take your own initiatives and are happy to come up with development proposals.
