The tasks of the IT Development Leader at the Education Office include both independently driving projects and processes, as well as working together with colleagues, partners, and suppliers. In this role, you are required to manage and drive issues at both operational and strategic levels to create the best possible conditions for the office's continued development.

As an IT Development Leader, you, together with your colleagues in the unit, are responsible for ensuring that the office has a robust, long-term effective, and functional IT environment that is easy to manage and meets the needs of the operations.

We are in a new development phase for the digitization work focusing on information security, system solutions, school platforms, and other vital system supports for our operations with the ambition to create better conditions for students, employees, and citizens. In addition, we are driving a joint expanded data-driven systematic quality work, which makes AI and BI highly relevant issues for us.

Your tasks

Your main tasks will be to:
- coordinate and synchronize IT and digitization initiatives from the Education Office's operations and the municipality's IT department,
- project lead system implementations in the operations and create understanding for automation,
- drive and participate in IT-related procurements and ensure quality based on supplier follow-up,
- coordinate information security work at the Education Office,
- coordinate scheduling for development work and implementation planning,
- participate in development forums within the IT area.

Requirements:
- to succeed in the role, you need to have worked for several years with management and further development of IT solutions from a business perspective.
- that you have a university degree in IT or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way is a given.

You also need to have:
- experience and understanding of project management based on the needs of operations and IT.
- good experience in procurement and implementation of systems.
- the ability to analyze, drive, and communicate impact work within digitization.
- experience presenting and reporting to management teams and steering committees or similar decision-making bodies.
- a strategic mindset, operationally close IT, and a habit of working long-term.

Meritorious:
- worked in public administration with educational operations.
- organized development work that has been driven in parallel projects.
- interest in information security.

The Education Office has a total of 3,500 employees and consists of operations within preschool, primary school, high school, and adult education with several different school forms and support processes.
The role is part of the area of Strategy and Operational Support within the UK administration unit, which contains various support processes. In the operationally close IT work, in addition to this role, there are 3 system administrators and a solution architect.
The position will also collaborate within the municipality's common IT function, which is responsible for the base platform.

The position is a full-time employment with placement at the Education Office in Södertälje.
