About the workplace

We are looking for someone who wants to help bring the good meal into the future with a focus on high quality and reduced food waste! The Department of Meals and Local Care is part of the Community Building Administration.

The department prepares meals for preschools, schools, high schools, and special accommodations and performs local care in properties where municipal activities are conducted. We have about 260 employees distributed across ten units. We are passionate about people, food, and quality and see development and change as a natural part of our operations. We are working on digitization to streamline and improve the quality of our work. We care about your well-being and offer flexible working hours, the possibility of remote work, wellness grants, professional development, and the opportunity for vacation swapping.

Job Responsibilities

As our new manager, you will have overall responsibility for leading the operations, managing the budget, and developing our fantastic staff. Together with about 30 employees, consisting of both skilled chefs and meal assistants, you will ensure that our service is always top-notch!

We are looking for a secure and stable leader with great commitment, who easily creates structure and has a strategic flair. You gain energy and are driven by coaching your team and working closely with your employees to achieve common goals together.

  • Good at building strong relationships and quickly adapting the operations to new challenges and needs.

Your qualifications:

  • We are looking for someone with relevant education for the role or equivalent experience that we consider comparable.
  • Managerial experience.
  • Chef training or experience from large kitchens.
  • Good computer skills and good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form.
  • Driver's license B.

It is an extra plus if you also have:

  • Experience from working in a politically governed organization or change management.
  • Education in leadership.
  • Basic knowledge of food legislation.
  • Experience in personnel management within large kitchens or restaurants.
