We are looking for an interim department head in finance.

About the assignment

The assignment is full-time, starting as soon as possible after a successful security clearance and will last until 251231. Some opportunity for remote work is available.

Your tasks

The role of the finance manager will primarily focus on personnel, work environment, change management, developing employee engagement, and ensuring stable foundational conditions regarding competence and routines. The operations will be planned, managed, and followed up on behalf of the administrative director.

  • You will be the finance manager for the administration
  • Responsible for the administration's financial budget and follow-up as well as descriptive sections regarding the financial budget
  • Responsible for driving and establishing the administration's financial follow-up concerning unit, department reports, and follow-up reports internally as well as towards the City of Gothenburg and the board
  • Responsible for routines and handling of accounting principles for operations, reinvestments, and investments, in accordance with advice and instructions
  • Support the management team, managers, and other administration regarding financial issues
  • Quality assure service statements regarding financial follow-up and in other areas such as auditing and quality
  • Present monthly reports with several cases in an easily understandable way to the board
  • Lead the daily work of the finance department staff
  • Be responsible for contacts with the City of Gothenburg's city management office regarding financial issues

Your qualifications

  • Academic education equivalent to at least a master's degree in finance or a business administration degree and broad experience in financial work from municipal or regional operations
  • 3 years of experience in leadership and management with personnel, budget, and operational responsibility in finance
  • At least 5 years of experience in practical financial work, preferably process-oriented

The position is security classified in class 2. You will undergo a background check, alcohol and drug test, security interview, and register check.
