Unit Manager for International Development Cooperation at Swedac
Styrelsen För Ackreditering och Teknisk KontrollVästra Götalands län, Borås
Previous experience is desired
Are you interested in developing both people and organizations? Do you want to be part of leading the development of international cooperation and contribute to global partnerships?
We are now looking for a committed and experienced unit manager for the unit for international development cooperation at Swedac.
As the unit manager for international development cooperation at Swedac, you will have overall responsibility for the authority's international development projects. You will be the authority's contact person and maintain an ongoing dialogue with our partners, both nationally and internationally. You will be responsible for the direction of the operations, be an expert, and train others in the quality infrastructure broadly and in depth within at least one of the authority's three main areas of operation.
- Accreditation
- Regulated measurement technology
- Market control
About the position
As the unit manager, you will have overall responsibility for leading and developing the unit's employees and driving projects within international development cooperation. You will work strategically to initiate new international collaborations, maintain contacts with relevant actors, and follow up on the development of projects.
You will also handle project applications and, with the support of the operational departments, explore which projects could be relevant for the authority in the future. In short, you will be the driving force behind the authority's international development cooperation, which will focus on support to Ukraine for the foreseeable future, but also in other parts of the world.
We are looking for someone with strong leadership qualities and experience in a leadership position. You are accustomed to operating in international contexts - professionally, linguistically, and culturally - and are confident and experienced in representing public Sweden. Since you will collaborate with both employees from the authority and other authorities and organizations within and outside Sweden, you need to be communicative and have good collaborative skills.
You should have good administrative skills, which include accuracy, good documentation skills, and a sense of order regarding the handling of information, documentation, and data.
You stand behind and uphold the state's core values.
We place great importance on your personal qualities.
Education and experience
We see that you have an academic degree in political science, international relations, development studies, law, or another area that the employer deems relevant. Experience working within government, change management, or international development cooperation is an advantage.
Language skills
Very good knowledge of Swedish and English is a requirement. Knowledge of major world languages such as Spanish, French, and Russian, as well as languages spoken in countries where Swedac has or plans to have projects, is an advantage.
You will be based either in Borås, where the authority's office is located, or in Stockholm, where we will provide you with office space in a location identified once the recruitment is complete.
The position involves a lot of travel. This includes trips to Swedac's authority days (about 8 per year), other planning meetings in Borås, attending some study visits in Borås, and travel to project countries.
Start date and the possibility of remote work will be agreed upon.
We apply individual salary setting.
