We are now looking for a pro-rector who wants to help shape the future of the University of Borås by contributing to high quality in research and education and developing strong relationships with key stakeholders. Welcome with your application!

Your Responsibilities

As pro-rector, you will be the deputy to the rector and part of the university's management. You will work closely with the rector, university management, and the student union to drive the strategic development of the University of Borås. Your role involves working for high quality in both research and education and contributing to strengthening the university's position. You are expected to establish and develop trusting contacts and relationships with the university's key stakeholders at local, national, and international levels.

Your Qualifications

As pro-rector, you need to have the ability to collaborate trustfully with the university's management, staff, students, trade unions, and external parties. Your role involves promoting conditions for sustainability, a good working environment, and equal opportunities for both staff and students. We highly value personal suitability, as it is an important aspect of performing the tasks in the best way and contributing to the university's development.

To succeed in the role of pro-rector, you also need to:

• meet the eligibility requirements for a professorship or docentship in a field relevant to the University of Borås
• be able to communicate well in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing
• have experience in managerial and/or leadership roles within higher education
• have experience in strategically leading and developing high-quality education and research and driving quality work
• have good knowledge of educational and research issues within higher education, taking into account quality aspects and relevant regulations.

Experience in the following areas is meritorious:

• collaboration with the surrounding community, such as businesses, associations, and public organizations
• planning, leading, and driving research and development projects
• serving as a manager with personnel and operational responsibility
• external research funding and the utilization of research.

Terms

Fixed-term assignment, alternatively employment according to AF§ 9, full-time, until June 30, 2028, at the latest. Start date on July 1, 2025, or by agreement.
