Job Responsibilities

Limhamn School is growing and is looking for new teachers for grades 7-9. The job description includes planning lessons, conducting teaching, and assessing students' acquired knowledge. The teacher evaluates and develops the pedagogical work based on the school's governing documents and the needs and interests of the students, both individually and together with the work team. The teacher conducts modern and creative teaching and finds strategies to reach each student and support them in both knowledge development and personal growth. The teacher collaborates with other school staff to create a good learning and working environment for both students and staff and actively participates in the school's development work. The role may include mentorship and supervision of students.

In this recruitment, we are looking for new employees with the following qualifications:

One position in English
One position in Swedish
Two positions in Mathematics/Science
One position in Social Studies/Physical Education
One position in Wood and Metalwork

Qualifications

You who are applying are a certified teacher with qualifications for teaching in grades 7-9 with qualifications for the requested subject for the current position. If you have previous experience working as a teacher for grades 7-9, we consider that an advantage.

You have a good understanding of and knowledge about the school's governing documents and can effectively use them in your daily work. Furthermore, you have strong didactic and pedagogical skills and can lead and organize your work to create a calm and conducive learning environment for our students throughout their school day.

Based on current research, you develop your work and with good knowledge and experience, you work effectively with relevant digital tools. Of course, you have a professional attitude and work to build good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school.

About the Workplace

Limhamn School started the school year 2024/2025 with three classes in grade 7. Over the next few years, the school will grow and eventually have a facility for about 450 students in grades 7-9. We will also have a resource school with about 30 students. Limhamn School's focus is on creating the best conditions for students' knowledge development in a safe and trusting environment, challenging students to take their own initiatives, develop their interests, and take responsibility for themselves and others. We believe that each student is unique and strive to give all students the best opportunities to succeed, both in school and in life. You will come to a humble and open work climate where we work together for each student's best school and each employee's best workplace. We are located in Limhamn's waterfront city, and the school building, completed in 2018, is fresh and airy with large bright classrooms, well-equipped special rooms, and pleasant social areas. Physical education classes are held in the nearby Glasbruk School's gym. On our schoolyard, there is a basketball court and a small soccer field. In the middle of the schoolyard stands a locomotive shed from 1896; a remnant from the time when the area was an industrial area with a train station.
