Within the pediatric medicine department, we care for children aged 0 to 18 years with various medical conditions. Here, we handle everything from common illnesses to highly specialized care for children and adolescents with rare and severe diagnoses.

In the pediatric medicine department, all competencies are represented, including doctors, nurses, pediatric nurses, social workers, psychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, and special educators. The dietitian service is part of the unit for occupational therapists, dietitians, and physiotherapists. We operate according to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the standards of the Nordic Association for the Needs of Sick Children (NOBAB).

The dietitians work across the entire pediatric healthcare system, including pediatric medicine, pediatric surgery, and neonatology at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) in Malmö and Lund. We are a constantly evolving organization where the expertise of dietitians is both valuable and in demand.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a dietitian with us, you will work with children and adolescents with various diseases in both outpatient and inpatient care. The major specialty area is pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition. The tasks primarily involve patient contact with individualized nutritional assessments and treatments. Work within other subspecialties such as diabetes, neonatal care, and allergies is also included in the role. Supervision of dietetic students may occur. Collaboration with dietitian colleagues, nurses, pediatricians, and other professional categories in the teams is an important part of the work.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed dietitian with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language proficiency in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale is a requirement. Previous experience in the dietetic profession as well as working with children and adolescents is an advantage.

As a person, you are proactive and have an easy time collaborating. You enjoy working independently and take great responsibility. It is natural for you to meet both patients and colleagues with care and respect. Furthermore, you have a genuine interest in working with children, adolescents, and their families. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
