Licensed Occupational Therapist for ASIH at Södertälje Hospital

Do you want to specialize in your profession while maintaining breadth? With us, you will find a learning work environment where you can develop, regardless of how many years you have been in the field.

We have experienced colleagues and short decision-making paths, making it easy to anchor new ideas. Several colleagues have returned to the workplace because they appreciate the operational area's working methods.

Paramedicine is a broad field that includes occupational therapists, dietitians, wellness consultants, physiotherapists, social workers, speech therapists, psychologists, and care planners. Our unit managers have shared positions and are therefore well anchored in the clinic. The operation has won the region's Gyllene Äpplet award twice, which is given to highlight developing initiatives both within management and among employees.

As an Occupational Therapist with us

As an occupational therapist with us, you will be part of a smaller group of occupational therapists, of which two work within ASIH and on our palliative ward. Some of our other occupational therapists, who are your colleagues, work in inpatient care and some in outpatient care. In the group of occupational therapists, we help each other across departments as part of our working method. You will have close collegial cooperation with both occupational therapists and physiotherapists daily and will work both in patients' home environments and to some extent on our palliative ward, where you will follow your patients. You will also be part of our mobile team, which is currently in the startup phase.

In your work, you will meet people with severe illnesses, primarily cancer but also other diseases. Based on your meetings and planning with patients, you will take responsibility for and perform the occupational therapy interventions for your patients. During your working days, you will make home visits, and your tasks will include mapping your patients' activity abilities and living conditions, assessing needs for and testing assistive devices, and assessing the need for housing adaptations. You will base your work on the patient's needs and address them with energy-saving activities or other interventions that the patient requires. Your tasks include collaboration with the patient and their relatives, cooperation with ASIH and PVA professionals, our discharge team, and other parts of the rehabilitation chain.

Your personal qualities

We are looking for someone who is secure and stable, with a curious approach. You find it easy to collaborate with others and also enjoy working independently. You are professional and empathetic in your interactions and actions. You are a skilled problem solver, flexible, and good at prioritizing your work, as meetings with patients, tasks, and workdays vary each day.

We place great importance on personal suitability.
