Svenska kraftnät is one of the key players in the sustainable energy transition. As a Data Steward, you will be offered one of Sweden's most important IT jobs, where you will contribute daily to Sweden's electricity supply. We need you to succeed in our vital mission to electrify Sweden.
We currently have about 600 people in IT, and we will grow further in the coming years. This is to create the conditions for Sweden to double its electricity production and meet climate goals by completely transitioning to fossil-free energy. To succeed, we will use the latest technology to increase the capacity of our infrastructure while also accelerating the development pace around systems, digitalization, and processes.
If you want to work and develop in a growing organization and create a forward-leaning and robust IT organization together with wonderful colleagues, come to us!
About the position
As a Data Steward, you ensure appropriate quality and integrity of data within the information domains that manage the IT division's data and information. You support and educate employees in data management and act as a contact point for data-related questions. Furthermore, you collaborate with other data stewards in forums and councils to improve processes and methods for data management.
Examples of responsibilities and tasks:
- Understand and follow up on data flows and collaborate with analysts for effective and correct use of data.
- Implement and develop working methods for data-related business needs within the information domain, including data audits and quality controls.
- Monitor and report on data quality and integrity to ensure that data is accurate, complete, and up-to-date.
- Be the cohesive force to highlight the need for security measures related to data/information within the information domain, according to processes and working methods decided by Svenska kraftnät.
- Collaborate with information architects to document data definitions, models, and flows and ensure standardization and consistency in data usage.
As a Data Steward, you contribute to ensuring that Svenska kraftnät and its closest partners have access to the data for which the IT division is responsible, and that it is accurate and complete and available in a timely manner according to applicable internal and external laws and regulations.
The role belongs to the Architecture and Data Governance unit within the Data and Digitalization department and is primarily led by the information domain owner. You collaborate with a variety of roles both within and outside your team, such as data specialists, data strategists, information architects, etc.
About you
To be successful in this role, we see that you have the ability to listen and collaborate with others, while you also enjoy working on problem-solving. You need to be comfortable acting as a trusted advisor since much of the work occurs across cross-functional groupings with many stakeholders. Furthermore, you describe yourself as an analytical and structured person who is eager to bring ideas and suggestions for improvements.
We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
Required qualifications:
We see that you have a higher education degree in, for example, computer science, information science, economics, business development, and/or such education/work experience that Svenska kraftnät deems equivalent. You also have:
- Several years of practical work experience in working with and implementing operational methods and approaches regarding data and information management, e.g., in roles such as data specialist or data steward based on established frameworks such as DAMA (The Global Data Management Community)
- Experience working with data quality tools
- Experience working with data catalogs
Furthermore, you have a strong ability to analyze and follow up on data-related issues and offer both practical and strategic solutions. You speak and understand Swedish and English in both spoken and written form.
Desirable experience:
- Experience in practical work with master data, metadata, or interoperability
- Experience working in an IT division/department and with its data and information
- Information classification according to the Security Protection Ordinance
- Work experience in requirements gathering and requirements processing in a larger organization
