Test Engineer at Saab in Karlskoga

Your Role

The position is located in the production engineering department at Saab within the Dynamics business area and our production unit in Karlskoga, Björkborn Industrial Area. The department, which consists of five sections, has about 120 employees and is responsible for testing and assembly preparation, prototype and machine workshops, tool construction, maintenance, and facility technology.

The Dynamics production unit faces many interesting challenges. While implementing several capacity-increasing measures, it is also investing long-term in development through, among other things, digitization and automation. Test development currently consists of about ten technicians and engineers responsible for requirements specification, test methods, development, and maintenance of test applications. We are now looking for several colleagues to strengthen the team.

The work includes, among other things:

• Defining test methods.
• Developing test applications.
• Working on continuous improvements.
• Supporting ongoing production.

As a test engineer, you will help define the various test stages for a product as well as introduce test applications during the manufacturing process. The work also includes supporting ongoing production with troubleshooting of equipment and products in case of failures. There may also be travel involved for on-site support of equipment at subcontractors.

Your Profile

As a test developer, you will have daily collaboration and communication with others, which requires you to be service-oriented and able to act as a problem solver. Personal qualities that we place great emphasis on are attention to detail, structure, and the ability to take initiative. We also see you as responsible and unpretentious with a positive attitude. We will place great importance on personal qualities as matching our existing team is important moving forward.

You have a technical education with a focus on electronics and/or computer programming, as well as a strong technical interest since the position is broad and touches on several different areas of expertise.

Furthermore, you have good knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written form.

Meritorious

• National Instruments development environments TestStand and LabWindows/CVI.
• Knowledge of C programming.
• Knowledge of electronic design.
• Experience in requirements specification.
• Previous experience working on equipment development for a production operation.
