System Manager Officer

About the Unit

The position is located at the Headquarters Development Department (HKV UTV AVD) with the workplace in Stockholm. The department is responsible for the development and planning of the Headquarters' future locations.

The work carried out by the HKV Development Department contributes to creating a long-term, sustainable, and rational localization of the HKV organization unit with its staffs, commands, and special units within the Stockholm garrison, and the Armed Forces' other needs.

Main Responsibilities

In your role, you will be an important part of HKV development. You will report to the department head and be responsible for planning command systems in HKV's future locations. This includes, among other things:

  • Developing requirements for premises regarding information and command systems for HKV's future locations
  • Coordinating planning of information and command systems for future locations
  • Eventually implementing information and command systems for HKV's future locations
  • Ensuring that information and command systems achieve sufficient physical security protection, RÖS protection, etc. in conducted needs analyses
  • Conducting needs analysis for HKV's future locations
  • Participating in the daily work within the department

The tasks will change and develop over time as the operations evolve. You will have close collaboration with other parts of the Headquarters but also with external actors important for the Headquarters' command systems. The position does not involve any personnel responsibility.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Current and relevant experience in the area of command systems in HKV
  • Current and relevant experience in leading and/or carrying out larger projects within the command systems area in HKV
  • Current and relevant experience working with the Armed Forces' command systems
  • Very good knowledge of the Headquarters' operations
  • Very good knowledge of the Armed Forces' command systems
  • Very good knowledge of the Headquarters' data infrastructure
  • Very good ability to express oneself in speech and writing in Swedish
  • Current and relevant experience in leading and coordinating projects or similar activities
  • Driving license B (manual transmission)

Personal Qualities

To thrive in this role, you need to be curious and proactive, and driven by the desire to develop and coordinate operations. A large part of the work is done in very close collaboration with other units within the Headquarters, the Armed Forces, and other authorities, which places high demands on your ability to build and maintain good relationships. You are responsible and can independently prioritize your tasks. Furthermore, you have a high security awareness and a good ability to handle changes in pace. You actively contribute to a pleasant working environment and share the Armed Forces' values. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

DESIRABLE

  • Military competence as an officer or specialist officer
  • Relevant education and experience in the command systems area
  • Relevant experience of the Armed Forces' infrastructure process
  • Current education and work experience in ISUS

Other

Employment type: Permanent employment. The Armed Forces apply a six-month probationary period for those who are not employed by the authority.

Information about the recruiting unit:

At the Headquarters, the Chief of Defense and the Director General are present. The Headquarters has approximately 1,000 employees – both professional officers and civilian experts. As of 2023-01-01, the Headquarters consists of the Defense Staff, the Operations Command, the Military Intelligence and Security Service, as well as the Headquarters' staff department and independent supervisory units.

Employment with us means placement in a security class. Usually, Swedish citizenship is required. A security screening with a background check will be conducted prior to employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Employment also includes an obligation to be placed in wartime. The implications of this vary depending on the type of position.
