Maintenance Manager at Swedish Match in Gothenburg

The Swedish Match factory in Gothenburg is facing exciting projects that include updating existing equipment and machinery, digitalization, smart factory systems, and the ability to meet a growing global market demand. We are looking for a Maintenance Manager in Gothenburg to lead and develop a knowledgeable and engaged multidisciplinary team of about 20 mechanics, electricians, facility technicians, and automation engineers focused on preventive maintenance in the factory. You will play a key role in ensuring that maintenance plans are followed, minimizing operational disruptions, and optimizing production capacity. The role also includes overall responsibility for fire and security safety within the factory, where you actively work to minimize risks and create a safe and secure working environment for all employees. We offer a broad key position with exciting strategic issues.

Main Responsibilities:

• Lead, develop, and be responsible for the maintenance department's daily and long-term work.
• Ensure compliance with preventive maintenance plans and address any deviations.
• Contribute strategically as a member of the factory management team and participate in operational planning.
• Optimize resources and ensure that the department has the right skills and staffing.
• Ensure compliance with legal requirements and internal regulations regarding work environment, safety, and protection.
• Identify and drive improvement initiatives to streamline our processes.
• Develop and follow up on investment plans within maintenance and safety.
• Act as a contact person for authorities and suppliers regarding fire and security safety.

You will be part of the Gothenburg factory's management team and report to the Factory Manager. The position is a permanent role located in central Gothenburg.

We are looking for someone with:

• Technical education in machinery, automation, electronics, or a related field.
• Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, and thus the ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and relevant technical standards.
• At least 5 years of experience in strategic and tactical maintenance work within industrial operations using maintenance and business systems.
• At least two years of continuous experience in personnel management and thus experience in leading and developing staff.
• Good Swedish and English skills, both spoken and written.
• Basic understanding of the Machinery Directive and training in fire protection, safety, leadership, and project management is advantageous.
