Then the role of Principal Engineer in Machinery and Utility Systems at Floatel International could be your next step!

Your Role

As a Principal Engineer in Machinery and Utility Systems, you will have overall responsibility for strategic development, maintenance planning, and investments related to our vessels' mechanical systems. This includes gangway systems, cranes, and engines for power generation - critical systems for our fleet of accommodation platforms.

You will act as a technical advisor to our crews and technical inspectors and be an important link between the operations on board and our suppliers. A central part of the role is to work with specifications, planning, and follow-up of larger works and modifications carried out on board. You will also contribute to the selection of suppliers and continuously work to streamline maintenance processes and routines.

In your role, you will closely collaborate with our other Principal Engineers in electrical and instrumentation control, as well as with inspectors and maintenance teams to ensure that our vessels are operationally safe and meet the highest standards.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is curious, self-driven, and analytical with the ability to see the big picture in technical solutions. You are communicative and enjoy collaborating with both internal and external parties. Furthermore, you have a good ability to interpret regulations and translate them into practical and strategic decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering, mechanics, or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the marine industry, process industry, or other heavy industry.
  • Experience with technical systems such as large engines, cranes, or similar.
  • Good understanding of regulations, governmental requirements, and international standards.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written. Knowledge of Swedish or another Scandinavian language is a significant advantage.

It is advantageous if you have experience working strategically with investments and maintenance planning in complex systems.
