Are you a driven engineer with an interest in engine testing and systems development? We are now looking for an Engine Test Engineer who wants to work with RM12 and be part of building our capabilities around RM16. Does this sound like something for you? Welcome with your application!
About the company
GKN Aerospace Sweden is part of GKN Aerospace, which manufactures engine components, aircraft structures, cabin windows, wiring, and much more for many of the world's aircraft. The companies in the Aerospace division that work with parts for aircraft engines together form Engines, and at our facility in Trollhättan, we develop and manufacture advanced parts for engines for aircraft and space rockets. We also work with engine maintenance.
The Engine Systems & Accessories department focuses on product support activities such as troubleshooting, problem-solving, and investigations related to the use of jet engines. In addition to product support, we also work on development and upgrades of jet engines.
The department is also responsible for our technology engine fleet that supports us with product support issues as well as development and upgrades. A large part of our operations is focused on the JAS 39 Gripen engines RM12 and RM16, but also stationary gas turbines and working with next-generation engine concepts are included in the department's activities.
Your tasks
You will be part of the team responsible for the RM12 technology engine fleet – an important resource for gathering usage experience, identifying problems, and verifying engine system development. At the same time, you will participate in establishing a technology engine program for RM16.
The role involves close collaboration with maintenance workshops, instrumentation, and engine testing, as well as the opportunity to participate in product development, concept work, and future engine systems. You will also contribute to the department's strategic goals and continuous improvement efforts.
Your profile
We are looking for someone who is a responsible team player and enjoys collaborating both internally and externally. You have an engineering degree at the BSc level or equivalent experience, as well as practical experience in maintenance and engine testing.
As a person, you are structured, positive, and solution-oriented. You are proficient in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written, and have a strong desire to be part of Sweden's defense industry. It is advantageous if you have experience from the aerospace industry and work with complete engine systems, as well as if you have previously worked with the RM12 or RM16 engine.
The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations. For positions where GKN's customer has requirements for security classification, this may entail requirements for certain citizenship.
Application procedure
In this recruitment, GKN Aerospace collaborates with Skill. The position is a consultancy assignment where you will initially be employed by Skill with opportunities for transition to GKN.
Selection is ongoing, and the position may be filled before the application deadline. Therefore, apply today!
