Operations Manager at Lerum Municipality

Lerum Municipality is known for its scenic spots with lakes and forests. The municipality has 3,200 employees and 43,000 residents but expects to grow significantly in the coming years. Lerum is only a 20-minute commute from Gothenburg and is currently undergoing an intensive development period with many exciting projects underway, ranging from schools to housing. The municipality works to ensure good service, high welfare, and a thriving business climate.

Do you want to help develop sustainable and efficient property solutions in a forward-thinking municipality? We are now looking for an operations manager who wants to create value for our residents through strategic space planning and property management.

The Property and Investment business area is part of the Community Building Sector and is responsible for ensuring and providing suitable premises in a cost-effective and sustainable manner. We manage an operational budget of approximately 350 million SEK per year and an investment volume of about 300 million SEK per year.

We consist of three units and a staff, with a total of about 60 employees. We are now looking for a third operations manager, who will primarily handle operational premises for the Education Sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As an operations manager, you will be responsible for the primary dialogue and collaboration with the municipality's operations regarding their space needs. You will act as an important link between tenants and the property organization, ensuring that the premises are functional, cost-effective, and sustainable.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Being the contact person for planning leaders or equivalent within, for example, the Support and Care Sector, Education, and other municipal properties.
  • Working with space supply at an operational level (approximately two-year time perspective) - participating in leasing, renting, and minor space and operational adjustments.
  • Creating and maintaining good, long-term relationships with tenants and ensuring that their needs are met within budgeted frameworks.
  • Contributing to ensuring that the premises are suitable, cost-effective, and future-proof.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with relevant education and/or experience in property economics, technology, or a similar field. You likely have a background as a property economist, project manager, project developer, manager, or equivalent. You have a B driver's license. Previous experience in space resource planning and work within public operations is an advantage.
