We are now looking for a regional developer who wants to help develop our work within strategic regional community planning. You will be part of the Corporate Office's department for regional community planning. Here, you will be an important team player in the work of developing and driving community development for a sustainable and accessible Västra Götaland.
Your Mission
The position involves you, together with colleagues, driving and developing the strategic work with community planning issues from a regional perspective. VGR is responsible for public transport, establishes plans for regional transport infrastructure, and coordinates broadband development in the region. There is potential to further develop coordination and synergies within these areas but also in collaboration with other actors in other community planning issues such as energy supply, climate adaptation, business development, and accessibility to services. You will be part of a team and collaborate with colleagues to achieve the region's goals. You will have great freedom under responsibility and the opportunity to influence your work.
As a regional developer, you will work with the goal of making Västra Götaland a role model for the transition to a sustainable and competitive society. Therefore, we are looking for someone with several years of experience in community planning and community development issues.
Main Responsibilities:
- Drive and develop the strategic work with regional community planning and integrate it with the department's other areas of responsibility
- Together with colleagues, initiate development and change projects to clarify VGR's role in community planning.
- Project and process management of complex projects in close collaboration with municipalities, municipal associations, authorities, etc.
- Participate in various networks and groups, both within the organization and often externally in collaboration with other actors and parties
- Preparation of political decisions - produce materials, analyze, and propose recommendations
- Respond to consultations and inquiries
What Can We Offer You?
You will work in a group that handles various aspects of community planning, infrastructure, and mobility within the Regional Community Planning department. The department as a whole is highly engaged in sustainable mobility and infrastructure aimed at leading to a transport-efficient society, where we work towards the goal of connecting Västra Götaland for sustainable and improved accessibility.
You will also work closely with the political committee responsible for regional community planning issues, the Infrastructure and Public Transport Committee (IKN).
Västra Götaland Region offers flexible working arrangements based on the conditions of the operations, and there is the possibility to combine work from our offices and remotely.
To Succeed in the Role, You Need:
Qualifications:
- A higher education degree at an advanced level (master's), for example, in cultural geography, community planning, urban development, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Several years of experience working in the field of community planning, comprehensive planning, and/or regional development
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Experience in project and process management
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
We are looking for someone who is self-driven, has the desire to achieve results with the right quality, and takes their own initiatives while complementing and strengthening the team.
Meritorious:
- Good local knowledge of Västra Götaland.
- Project and process management of complex issues/projects in collaboration with multiple actors
- Experience from working in a politically governed organization.
