Do you want to work in a surgical emergency care department and be part of the continued development of the emergency and trauma section at Östersund Hospital?

In November 2024, the department was expanded with 3 monitoring places where surgical patients with increased care needs/monitoring will be treated.

On Surgical Ward 3, KAVA, we work based on a concept where teamwork, high physician presence, patient participation, and continuous training efforts are important parts. We also work with needs-based bedside rounds and daily management.

Östersund Hospital is the only hospital in the Jämtland Härjedalen Region and receives emergency and trauma patients from the entire region. We are responsible for both residents and a very large, and increasing, number of tourists both in summer and winter. This places high demands on us regarding competence and resources. The Jämtland Härjedalen Region is one of the largest employers in the county with approximately 4,200 employees. Together, we work to develop the region's healthcare. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Patients come to the emergency surgical department via the emergency department to start investigation and treatment.

The focus is on diagnostics, treatment, monitoring, and good care. We work in multiprofessional teams where a care team consists of a nurse, nursing assistant, and physician in collaboration with several other functions such as care planning nurse, pharmacist, medical secretary, occupational therapist, and physiotherapist. A lead nurse is present to lead and support during the day, and a unit coordinator is responsible for phone communication, ordering transports, and performing administrative tasks. The length of stay varies from 1 day to longer depending on the patient's condition and need for emergency care.

We are now looking for someone who is interested in surgical care and enjoys structured emergency management with the goal of providing our patients with the best possible care. You will be welcomed into a workgroup that enjoys their work and each other!

We offer a 4-week introduction where observation in other units of the surgical area is included so that you can gain insight and get to know the entire area's operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a nursing assistant with an interest in trauma and surgical care. You have a positive attitude, are good at communicating, and have good collaboration skills. You are engaged and interested in both developing yourself and helping to develop others.
