JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for someone who wants to help develop the social services' support for relatives in Karlskoga municipality. The purpose of the position as a relative consultant is to provide support to relatives who care for or support someone close who is chronically ill, elderly, has disabilities, or other difficulties.
As a relative consultant, you will be part of the preventive unit which includes Activity Coordinators, Senior Guides, and Digitalization Guides. The unit is led by a unit manager and the operations are organized under the social services department, home care.
Responsibilities
As a relative consultant, your role includes supporting relatives at both group and individual levels and being a collaborative partner for operations in relative issues. You will work to create and conduct a cohesive and structured support system for relatives within social services. You will work proactively and preventively to early identify the situation of relatives and inform or offer appropriate support and interventions.
In this role, you will:
- Work motivationally and proactively to engage, support, and guide relatives in contact with the municipality
- Work with long-term, sustainable, and preventive interventions related to the target group both at an overarching level and in relation to individuals
- Be responsible for creating a cohesive and shared understanding of the work with relative support within the administration
- Collaborate with other operational areas, actors, and partners, both internally and externally
- Independently conduct environmental monitoring for your professional area and participate in the administration's development work.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a university degree and experience in social work, preferably focused on the elderly or people with disabilities.
You have experience and high competence in conducting supportive, reflective, and challenging conversations. You possess good empathetic skills, are secure and stable, and can lead group discussions. You are accustomed to environmental monitoring and have good knowledge of societal support and services.
The work is very independent but also requires collaboration skills as cooperation with other actors and colleagues is an important part of the operations.
You express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish and can clearly inform about the operations in various contexts, including digitally. If you have additional language skills, please indicate this in your application.

Karlskoga municipality is part of the Finnish administrative area and thus has a responsibility to uphold the status of the Finnish language.
