Hello! We are looking for a personal assistant for a 43-year-old man in central Hudiksvall with a neuromuscular diagnosis, which results in reduced motor skills, functional blindness, and impaired speech and hearing abilities. The disease does not affect intellect and personality, so he has a great sense of humor and a strong will.

About the position:

You will be an important part of his daily life, where your support enables him to live as independently and actively as possible. The job involves assisting with dressing and undressing, everyday chores, helping with shopping and restaurant visits, walks, gym, swimming, and more.

The working hours are typically 24-hour shifts from 12 PM to 12 PM the following day, but the hours may vary depending on circumstances; for example, you may sometimes be needed for a 6-hour shift and other days for 16 hours. A rest room is available for assistants with a bed for resting during the shift.

Who are you?

We are looking for a person who is independent, calm, stable, flexible, empathetic, and attentive with plenty of patience who enjoys engaging in various activities.

We value a good work ethic and your ability to adapt to the changing needs that may arise in everyday life. We prefer that you have previous experience in personal assistance and are familiar with various aids such as lifts and power wheelchairs, but this is not a requirement as you will receive training. Previous experience in assistance is an asset, but personal chemistry will weigh the heaviest. It is essential that you have a good command of Swedish in both spoken and written form to interpret and translate his signals to others in his environment.

Scope

We are looking for a personal assistant as a substitute for illness and vacation with the possibility of extension. We will start with a 3-6 month probationary period to ensure that the personal chemistry works from both sides.

Permanent employment, start date: According to agreement.

Salary: Fixed hourly wage.
