The Open Care Unit for children and families consists of 2 family treatment groups, the Family House and the Children’s Group, with a total of 24 employees, including 2 treatment coordinators and a unit manager. The unit's target group primarily consists of families with children up to 12 years old, but sometimes also teenagers. The Children’s Group is now looking for a new family therapist.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for someone who wants to be part of an engaged team where we work together to develop and strengthen parenting skills for those who need it most. We work with treatment assignments in complex situations with families that often have extensive support needs. All work is carried out on behalf of social workers based on set goals, which are regularly followed up. We often work together with a colleague and also seek help from the workgroup and treatment coordinators in our work with families.

Ongoing and clear documentation is an important part of the work to describe and show change or barriers to change. As a family therapist, you are responsible for keeping records and making analyses and assessments of the process that go hand in hand with the goals we have been assigned to work towards together with the family. We strive for participation and openness with families and have ongoing dialogue about how we perceive the family’s development.

We work with family relationships and behavior patterns to ensure that children and youth have a good home environment and living conditions in the long term. Our work is based on a relational foundation with a systemic approach where we see the whole picture around the families we work with. We look at the interaction between the individual and the family system to identify what may underlie what is not working, and then work towards achieving change. To achieve this, we sometimes use methods such as the Safety Circle, Child-Oriented Family Therapy, or Safer Children.

Great importance is placed on involving families and their networks in the change process. We see cross-sector collaboration with other actors as a success factor in helping families achieve lasting change and in preventing and/or avoiding placements.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with experience in family treatment work within the framework of the Social Services Act, as well as knowledge of systemic approaches, network work, and attachment. Experience in authority work with children and youth is an advantage, as well as knowledge of the operational system Treserva and the working models Signs of Safety and BBIC.

The position requires a degree in social work, or a higher education/university degree with a pedagogical focus or other education that the employer deems relevant for the position. The position requires you to have a B driver's license and driving experience. You also need to have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as a good ability to use a computer and phone in your work.
